setup when the computer starts the boot process. Most computers
display a screen that says "press F1 (or whatever key) to go into
setup. Many computer manufacturers and users also call this CMOS
settings too (although the CMOS
term really refers to the type of chip often used to store this
information). The
Bios settings are normally specific to that computer
and have all the different hardware and software settings so the
computer can function properly. The
last possible related security chip password can be place on the hard
drive. This keeps someone from removing the hard drive and accessing
it through another computer. This is often used when critical data may
exist on the hard drive as in financial information or some other type
of sensitive material. If
you don't know if you have a plain vanilla Bios Password or Security
Chip Password, it doesn't really matter in resetting. Most times you
can tell by the brand, model, or manufacture date (and if you still
can't I'll look it up for you). Most
of our solutions use software to reset the password. Some passwords
are reset using a hardware bypass method. It depends on your computer
brand and model. Windows
